Sugarcane & Maple is a small-batch skincare brand rooted in two worlds.

Founded by Zavia, the line was born from a deeply personal desire to honour a dual identity: the warmth, ritual, and time-honoured healing traditions of Jamaican island living, and crisp, nature-rooted abundance of Canada, where she was born and raised. Growing up between two cultures means carrying two sets of healing, two ways of understanding the land and body, and what it means to truly take care of yourself. Sugarcane & Maple is the place where those two understandings meet.

Every product is handmade in small batches, crafted slowly and with intention. Nothing here is rushed or made without thought. We formulate each product by hand, From the texture of each blend to the way a product feels in your hands, every detail is deliberate and tested meticulously.

The names matter, too. Each product is named after a Jamaican saying or proverb, carrying the wit, warmth, and hard-earned wisdom of the culture right there on the label. It's a small act of preservation, a way of keeping language, humour, and heritage alive in everyday routine.

Ingredients are sourced locally from Canadian vendors, with a genuine and ongoing commitment to diasporic purchasing. Wherever possible, Zavia chooses to support Black, Indigenous, and POC suppliers, because who we buy from is part of the story, too. Conscious sourcing is a value that shapes every order, every restock, and every new formula.

Sugarcane & Maple is cosmetics and ceramics with a story. It's crafted slowly, offered honestly, and made with deep respect for both cultures that shaped the hands that make it.
